The New England Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club
Constitution

Article One      Name of Club

The name of the club shall be the New England Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club.

Article Two     Coverage

Members shal include interested persons from Connecticut, Maine, Massachussetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Article Three   Object

Section 1 
The purpose of this club shall be to encourage, promote and improve the breeding of Netherland Dwarf rabbits by maintainig standards, encouraging exhibitions and offering services to its members.

Section 2
To sponsor at least one (1) all Dwarf rabbit show per year

Section 3
To hold a yearly sweepstakes for all members showing in New England Show Circuit sanctioned shows.  A separate sweepstakes shall be held for both Open and Youth.

Article Four    Membership

Section 1
Any person of good moral character from any of the six (6) New Engalnd states, New jersey and New York may join.

Section 2
Membership shall run one (1)  year from the date accepted.

Article Five   Officers

Section 1
Officers shall consist of President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and a Board of four (4) Directors.  At least two of the Directors must be Open members.  All Directors must be willing to serve all of the New England states (Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachussetts, Vermont,  New Hampshire, Maine), New York and New Jersey.

Section 2
Officers must be members of the American Rabbit Breeders Association and the American Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club.

Section 3
Elections will be held at the annual Fall meeting.  If ther is no Fall meeting, elections may be held at the Spring meeting or by ballot with space for write-ins.  If a mail ballot is necessary, the following procedure should be adhered to:
A nominating committee consisting of at least two (2) club members appointed by the President should draw up a slate of eligible candidates.  The candidates should be contacted to obtain their permission for inclusion on the ballot.  A deadline date for return of ballots should be determined.  A person, designated by the President, who is not a candidate for office should be selected as the recipient of returned ballots.  The ballot form, which should include the names of all candidates, a space for write-ins, the deadline date for return and the designated return recipient's name and address, should be mailed to every current paid up club member.  All ballots completed and returned to the designated recipient by the due date should be delivered to the nominating committee after the due date has passed.  The committee shall open the ballots and count them, tallying the results for each listed candidate and any write-ins.  They should be sure that they have not recorded more votes than the number of the ballots sent out.   The final results along with alll ballots should be forwarded to the club President who will inform the membership of the outcome by special mailing and/or newsletter.  The results must be published in the newsletter in any case.

Section 4
The President and Vice President shall be elected for a one (1) year term.  The Secretary/Treasurer and DIrectors shall be elected for a two (2) year term.

Section 5 
All terms of office shall run from January 1st through December 31st.  

Article Six    Duties of Officers

Section 1
The club's President shall preside over all meetings of the membership and the Board of Directors, shall appoint all committees, shall fill all vacancies of office by appointment  (with the approval of the Board of Directors) and shall perform all such duties as pertain to the office.

Section 2 
The club's Vice President shall perform all duties of the President in his absence or due to disability.  In the event of a vacancy in the office of President, the Vice President shall automatically succeed to the office of President.  The Vice President shall serve as sweepstakes chairman.

Secretary 3 
The club's Secretary/Treasurer shall be custodian of all general funds of the club, shall maintain a bank account in the name of the club, shall maintain a set of books and records suitable to the board of Directors, shall receive and act on all membership applications received, shall consult with and advise th Board on all unusual matters, shall furnish th Board with quarterly reports showing the general  condition of the club including financial standing, shall keep an accurate record of all meetings, and shall perform other duties as may be assigned by the President or Board of Directors.  The Secretary/Treasurer and the President to execute transactions.

Section 4 
The club's Board of Directors shall have the power to transact all business of the club between meetings, shall act upon charges brought before them, shall formulate rules, shall award the location of the New England All Dwarf Rabbit Show and shall decide on all questions of policy submitted to them.

Article Seven   Ammendments to the Constitution

Section 1
Amendments to the club's constitution may be made at any meeeting by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote, provided a quorum is present at that meeting.

Section  2
All amendments shall be presented in writing to the membership.

Section 3
A quorum shall consist of twenty five percent (25%) of the membership.

Article Eight     Dues

Club membership dues of October 10, 1992 shall be:  Single  Five dollars ($5.00) per year
                                                                                      Family  Ten dollars ($10.00) per year
                                                                                      Youth  Three dollars ($3.00) per year
A family membership shall apply to persons living in the same household only.  A youth member shall be between the ages fo nine (9) through eighteen(18).

Article Nine     Expenditures

Any expenditure by the club of one hundred dollars ($100.00) or more shall be approved by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.

Article Ten    Meting Protocol

Robert's Rules of Order shall befollowed at all club meetings.

Article Eleven   Board Meeting Notice

Section 1
The club's Board of Directors must be notified with two (2) weeks prior to a meeting.

Section 2
In the event of an emergency, notice of a Board of Directors's meeting may be given within twenty-four (24) hours.

Article Twelve   Board Meeting Frequency

The club's Board of Directors shall convene at least one (1) time per year, preferablly during the annual show.

New England Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club Sweepstakes

Six (6) trophies [three (3) in Youth and three (3) in Open] shall be awarded yearly to the New England Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club members accumulating th highest number of points in each of the five (5) color groups.  Points shall be determined by New England Show Circuit Secretary and announced at the club's annual meeting. 

The New England Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club Show Secretary  is authorized to purchase sweepstakes trophies.  The amount of money to be spent shall be left to the discretion of the Show Secretary, with a limit of no more than ten dollars ($10.00) per trophy for Best and Best Opposite of the color groups and for Best and Best Opposite of specific colors: and limit of no more than twenty-five ($25.00)  per trophy for Best and Best Opposite of Breed, Best Junior, all colors and for Best, Best Opposite or Reserve in Show.

Points are to be figured 6,4,3,2,1 times the number in class.

Winners must be members of the New England Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club to receive these awards.
